Tear gas and rubber bullets shot at rushing migrants at the border.

Unread post

The US Border patrol shot rubber bullets and tear gas at desperate migrants looking for opportunity and a better way of life in the United States.

Why are these people being treated like an invasion force?
What is the government of ours becoming?

The Obama Administration needs to be held accountable for this heinous dictatorial treatment of innocents.

Absolutely. I don't understand why people would think Trump has any influence on these events.

You are shamelessly selective with your outrage.

You also apparently slept like a baby in the fetal position during Obama's entire 8 year campaign. Your thumb must still be moist.

My outrage is entirely with Trump's stupidity. I haven't raged about tear gassing children, that's you. You're shamelessly selective with YOUR outrage. Aren't you? Why would you blame Obama at a time when Trump is responsible for tear gassing children? You make some twilight zone statements ant.

Again, this is a refugee crises. When you've known for weeks thousands of refugees are marching toward your border you plan for them. You funnel them into a holding area while ICE and other agencies sort through them and send the overwhelming majority back. This will discourage others from making the march.

Instead, Donnie and the Trumpettes gave us xenophobia and active duty troops. The refugees reach the border and having no idea what to do next, some attempt illegal entry and we get tear gas and rubber bullets.

Having thousands of refugees fleeing toward your border, is not a good thing. Having to house them in a tent city, feed them and give them first aid if necessary, is not a good thing. But this is the way a moral country should behave. This is the way I expected my country to behave despite Trump's rhetoric. Shame on us.

But really, who expects each side to cry foul every time their party is guilty of something? You expect libs to have cried foul back in the day, and demand they admit hypocrisy. But I haven't yet seen you cry foul regarding Trump. :tease:

I don't think there are very many people innocent of this sort of hypocrisy, it's human nature. I wish I could say I'm not guilty of this, but I think we all are.

You forgot to mention Hillary, Obama, emails and the birth certificate.

Of course I don't. That would be raising the bar too high for democrats - the alleged "party of the people"

Actually, that was really a shitty response from you, Interbane.

Just think of it: all the reported human trafficking, child exploitation, deportations of my people, in the 8 years of the Obama Admin was just "something" we didn't expect a federal case to be made over, like it is currently under Trump.

Go take a flying f***, pal.

But from your posts in this thread, you're the one being a hypocrite. The same is true of Republicans, it's not just Democrats. In fact, I'd say the Democrats have been jumping a higher bar. I browsed Drudge report and Fox news right after the tear gas incident, and there was zero condemnation of Trump. They applied the same tactic you apply - to say that "Obama did it too", as if two wrongs make a right.
Actually, that was really a shitty response from you, Interbane.
In what way? Mentioning that for the most part each party only cries foul toward the other?

Regarding the left covering the stuff you mention regarding Obama and child trafficking, see the WAPO's article on the topic, and even a PBS documentary. Do you expect this sort of self-examination from the right?

And do you really think the child trafficking and exploitation was intentional on part of the Obama administration, rather than a criminal act? As if Obama admins or Trump admins or any presidential admins would allow this if they had any inkling it was happening. Come on ant.

Regarding the number of deportations under Obama:
Los Angeles Times wrote:The number of people deported at or near the [U.S.-Mexico] border has gone up — primarily as a result of changing who gets counted in the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency’s deportation statistics.

The vast majority of those border crossers would not have been treated as formal deportations under most previous administrations. If all removals were tallied, the total sent back to Mexico each year would have been far higher under those previous administrations than it is now.
