Southwest Rain by Rita Mosiman

Torrents of water
Gush down the street
Summer’s first rain
Excitement replete

Every droplet
Cleansing each leaf
Each heart, each thought
Bringing relief

Glistening grasses
Fresh, clean air
Stirring our senses
Styling our hair

Thunder exploding
Lightening afire
Coaxing our beings
Never to tire

Southwest rain
Threatening skies
Brighten our spirits
Open our eyes

And that is how
the heaven makes love,
to the beautiful earth
lying below...

;)
“Her blood is settled, and her joints are stiff;
Life and these lips have long been separated:
Death lies on her like an untimely frost
Upon the sweetest flower of all the field.”
