Thank you for starting this forem. I am new here, but decided to share one of my poems. Thank you for the opportunity.

Forever Young

You'll always stay forever young
.....So deep within my heart.
You'll never age, you'll never change,
.....we'll never be apart.
You're here with me throughout the day,
.....each night you're in my dreams.
I'm waiting for eternity,
.....the wait is long, it seems.
I feel your presence in my mind,
,,,,,I close my eyes and see,
the smile I miss, the man I love,
.....the things that we could be.
You left me here so lomg ago,
.....because you did not know,
Our love would stand the test of time,
.....and all the world we'd show.
The day you took your life away
.....you took with you my own.
I live now with my memories,
.....and love that can't be shown.
I close my eyes, I drift away,
.....lost only in the past.
I feel the power of your love,
.....you've come to me at last.
I know the spirit of your soul,
.....my heart begins to pound.
I lose myself within our love,
.....with memories all around.
You came to me within a dream,
.....to help me see our fate.
To live my life without you,
.....yet I know it's not too late.
You live here in my heart and soul,
.....suspended..lost in time.
The face I love is ageless,
.....as to you I hope is mine.
Forever young, you'll always be,
,,,,,as through my life I go.
My love will always be with you,
.....and yours with me...I know.

Wow. I think that's the most emotionally captivating poem I've ever read. I feel foolish sitting here, weeping over the keyboard, but you truly know a deep love that I feel within myself. I felt those words just harboring in my soul.

Dear missyannlala,
You have touched me with your reply. It's wonderful people like you that will give me the inspiration to continue writing. All of my peoms center on the truth that is my life. Until the past year, only family & friends had read my poetry. Some of my poems are in my first published book. A nonfiction titled "The Journey, The Dreams, & AnnaBelle". The follow-up, "AnnaBelle's Spirit" has only one poem. Suzanne, here at Booktalk is reading both books now. Chris has been kind enough to feature them for me. I have found a world of caring people here, I know I have been blessed. It is an honor to have someone understand and feel your written words. Thank you again.

This is the first and the shortest poem I wrote. (I was 12 yrs. old, it was for English class)

I Wonder

I've often wondered why it's true,
.....girls fall in love before boys do.
They'll try so hard to drop a hint
.....in things they say, or do, or print.
Yet still no boy is quite a saint,
.....so told "she is", he'll say "she ain't".
So here I sit, I'll say no more,
.....I've yet to figure up the score.
But still I wonder why it's true,
.....Girls fall in love, before boys do.

Thanks for posting "I Wonder." You made me laugh.

See, even this innocent little poem you wrote at 12(!) touches my spirit in such a strong way.
It's nothing too deep or spiritual, but when you write it, I feel it, and that feeling is so damn strong! (pardon my language)...
I'm definitely going to look into your poetry collections! I'm beyond excited for your words and your art! I'm forever grateful!

Thank you again. I am on Facebook too. I would like for you to post it. I'll tell my kids. "Forever Young" is in the first book I wrote, and will always be one of my personal favorites. I know when I wrote it, the words just came.
