Re: WANTED: Fiction Book Suggestions for our January, February & March Discussion

Sorry, Chris - just haven't been around lately. Y'know how it is - life gets in the way. Anyway, I have been reading a lot - especially audio versions. Here are 3 recent reads: The Light Between Oceans - M. L. Stedman The Day the Falls Stood Still And the Mountains Echoed - Khaled Hosseini (Kite Run...

Re: Introduction to The Hobbit

I enjoy the movies; it's good to get them out and follow all the parts thru as a DVD Pigout. Jeff and I did that recently.

I think I'll just hang around for the discussion - don't think I'll get as far as opening a book.

Re: The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy; Final Thoughts

I read this one about a year ago and it led me to gather them all from the library and listen thru them. Good clean fun is what they are. Anybody wanting a good laugh should try his stories.

Re: Part 2: Heuristics and Biases

Yeah ... really - and this in itself is a perfect example of what I've been suspecting all along. A whole lotta' words to plow through with basic knowledge that we all knew already ... think before you speak - don't just jump in on intuitive feelings and WYSIATI. Which is also exactly as I suspected...

Re: Part 1: Two Systems

Your profile title is currently 'book slut' - ha ha!

Maybe the person who creates those labels oughta get into system 2.

Do you have any examples of how your way of thinking has changed on account of what you've read in the book?

Re: Part 1: Two Systems

By the way, my profile still says "creative writing student". Anyone have any idea how to change that? My user profile has accurate information, and I don't know where this "creative writing student" label is coming from. Thanks. Ha ha! Look at Robert's title ... The Lord of Rep...

Interbane: It wouldn't surprise me. I find that I'm pre-programmed to enjoy looking at boobs. Looking at a spider tickles the same caveman part of my brain, but in a bad kind of way. 8) You like looking at boobs? You're a young and ultra intelligent bloke with lots of life-force....of course you li...

Re: Part 1: Two Systems

My book just arrived this morning so I haven't begin to read it yet. Having read the posts though, I would just like to say that I like spiders. OK, I don't want their webs all over my living space, but I don't mind how many live with the bats in our coach-house. I don't mind any of them - spiders,...
