Re: November & December 2012 Non-Fiction Book Selection
Just thought I'd add a note about the other book proposed. I haven't read Owen's book yet, but I've had people ask me at book signings what I think of the situation. I really don't have an opinion. I can only speak from my own experience and journey with my father. He too, was sworn to secrecy. He k...

Re: November & December 2012 Non-Fiction Book Selection
May I suggest my own book? It is a memoir and published by Sourcebooks. Title: Breaking the Code: a Father's Secret, a Daughter's Journey, and the Question That Changed Everything. A short synopsis: When my father, a WWII veteran began having terrible nightmares and vivid flashbacks, I set out on a ...

Free Copy of Breaking the Code
Hi. My publisher, Sourcebooks, is sponsoring a free give-away of my memoir, Breaking the Code: a Father's Secret, a Daughter's Journey, and the Question That Changed Everything. The book is about my father, a WWII veteran, who began experiencing nightmares and flashbacks more than 50-years after the...

Re: Book signing questions
I had my first signing that was in a place where I knew absolutely no one. It was at Costco in Spokane, WA. What an interesting experience and a study in human behavior. Some people responded to just catching their eye and then talking a little about the book. But more often than not, if I made eye ...

Re: Elementary kids sharing their creative writing with YOU!
What a great site and a great idea! Those kids must be so proud. I wonder if there's anything like that for older kids? Thanks for sharing this, Chris!

Re: WANTED: Book suggestions for our January & February 2012 NON-FICTION group discussion!
I thought I already suggested this book, but I see it's not here. I believe that my book, Breaking the Code - a Father's Secret, a Daughter's Journey, and the Question That Changed Everything, would be an interesting book to discuss. It just came out and is getting a lot of nice reviews and positive...

Re: Book signing questions
Well, that sounds a little depressing. But you never know what connections you've made. Any one of the people you talked to could go tell someone else who is in a position to help promote your book in some way. So, you can't always judge the success of an event by book sales. Just keep working at it...

Re: WANTED: Quality non-fiction book suggestions for December and January!
I sent a message to Chris O'Conner earlier, to see if it's OK to suggest my own book. He assures me it is, so here goes; My book might be a bit of a change for non-fiction readers here, but I think it would be an interesting possibility. Breaking the Code - a Father's Secret, a Daughter's Journey, a...

LOL Typos always make me laugh. And my brain seems to always catch them - except in my own writing, probably.

Re: Do you like Horror movies?
No! I don't understand people who say they like to be scared. Yikes! Not me. But my teen sometimes forces me to watch --- from behind a pillow.
