Re: My Interpretation of "I Have no Mouth and I Must Scream"

Here is a link to the story if anyone is interested in reading it. As usual I'm late to the party, but I love me a short story so I stopped to look for it. https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=&cad=rja&uact=8&ved=2ahUKEwjTyZanqNL7AhWoIzQIHbI8D...

Re: A Favorite Poem

In an earlier post, I said that my favorite poet was Rudyard Kipling, and my favorite poem was 'If.' On reflection, while Kipling is still my favorite poet, there are others whose poetry I enjoy. Below are a few of them, and some of of their respective works. (To include the poems themselves would ...

Re: The Beartown Trilogy

I started one of them, I love the author, and have read several of his other books, "A Man Called Ove", "My Grandmother Sent Me To Tell You She Is Sorry", "Bridgett Was Here". I don't know why, but I really couldn't get into these books. I should give it another try tho...

Re: Ukraine invasion

This will age me, but why do I suddenly feel my childhood creeping back in a not so good way. The desk drills were behind us (mostly) but the Fallout shelters were everywhere and we still knew where to go if we needed to. (not that it would have REALLY helped, but you never know how much better than...

Through coordinated inaction America can form yet another Covid wave to cull thousands of lives so inconsequential we will deem them the continuation of a hoax.

Re: Favorite Short Horror Story

And as a smoker, I've always been partial to "Quitters Inc." by Stephen King. Even though it's a novella and not a regular short, Stephen King can definitely turn out a well crafted short. I have almost all of his books of short stories, although I haven't managed to read "If It Blee...

Re: Covid-19 Omicron variant

Both of my daughters live out state (Minnesota) in communities that are reluctant to take precautions like vaccinations and masks. 100% of their families have had Covid, although we don't have data on which variant. I live in the Twin City area, and hubby, Dad and I have yet to have it. And yet, peo...

Re: Ch. 1: Think Again by Adam Grant

I "read" a lot of books while driving, and don't distinguish whether I've actually listened to it unless it's important (like a chart or map I couldn't see) This doesn't work as well for high fantasy because I have always looked at the maps and followed along.
