I read while watching TV. Sometimes it's just for background noise.
In general though, I prefer reading a book over watching TV. But there's times where I just want to relax & watch a show rather than read.

Re: 1001 books?
What is the 1001 books challenge?
I don't do it, but I am doing the New Books Challenge again this year. Last year I got to 100, so I'm going for 150 this year.

Re: Poll for March/April fiction discussion now open
I voted for "A Visit from the Goon Squad" because I'm going to have to read it for one of my classes anyway, so this might help.
I've already read "Who Fears Death," and I enjoyed it, so if that wins, hopefully I'll have time to reread it.

Re: 11/22/63 by king
I enjoyed it. I was expecting more of a "What if JFK had lived?" sort of scenario but found it to be more like a "How would time travel work?" sort of book. So the ending wasn't as good as I thought it would be, but overall I liked it.

Re: Question for everyone
Depends on the book really.. The length, how fast paced it is, how much I'm into it. If it's a book I really want to "savor," it'll take me longer.
It also depends on what time of the year it is. Like right now, since college just started... I haven't had any time to read for pleasure.

Re: Fiction Book Poll
It does seem like a lot of books, but it is the first poll, so it's a bit experimental.. I also like the second poll suggestion Dexter made, but that might make the process take longer. Dexter: There are plenty of "young adult" books that are really great reads, even for adults. Granted, t...

Re: Fiction Book Poll
First votes! Buahahaha! (I actually just happened to log in 5 minutes after this was posted. Spooky.)
I was indecisive to I picked 7. There are some that I'd like to read more than others, but I selected the ones that I've either read & liked, or that would be interesting.
