Re: Working Class
A person on welfare now lives better than I did holding two jobs fifty years ago. I heard a congresswoman whining that some people in her district are so poor they can't afford cable twlevision. That made me just want to sit down and cry for them. Another woman on NPR radio said, "Not having an...

Re: Working Class
Ah, yes, I enjoy the people who justify their behavior with extreme fantasies. Let's see. If my family were starving I would, gasp, get a job. Or, I would go on the dole. Or, I would beg from a friend. But, I realize those inclined to steal will do ti regardless. I realize those who seethe with jeal...

Shallot: "Patrick, I fail to see how an individual (and if one, why not all?) lying to the government improves things for anyone, including the liar." Balance. Telling the truth doesn't always improve things for anyone, either, including the one telling the truth. Out of curiosity, do you ...

Well, I don't like lying and I just don't want to be dishonest, simply for my own self-respect. We don't want to emulate our governments and media now do we? (...

Re: coming out as an atheist
Of course, I don't share my beliefs with Christians unless they specifically ask. I assume they're as interested in my beliefs as I am in theirs. That would be not at all and I wish they would quit knocking on my door to share their beliefs with me.

Re: subjugation of women
"Religion is definitely a big problem, and perhaps the biggest in modern times."
Posting an opinion as if it were fact is quite irritating. I appreciate those on this thread who clearly label their opinions as opinions and use words like "may" or "possibly".

I avoid telling the government anything I don't have to and since they routinely lie to me I have no problem lying to them. Except on taxes. Lie on taxes and they will destroy you and your children.

Re: NBC Poll - Remove "In God We Trust" from currency?
I'm an atheist. I don't care. I have a friend who ends his emails with "In His Sign" and I don't care. I have other friends who actually think the government is there to help them and unions care about working people. I don't care. When I consider all the problems facing us, what is writte...

Re: Obama turns down golf games because they send the wrong message
Wow! Someone actually believes President Obama has turned down a golf game. "CNN) -- Barack Obama has come in at eighth in a list of golf-playing American presidents, higher than both George Bush and Ronald Reagan. Bush was known for his love of golf, but figures released by Mark Knoller of CBS...
