Interesting topics, I may indulge. Do you use the word Supervenience in the podcast on consciousness? And epistemology in the podcast on Truth?
I'll return if something catches my ear, thanks for the content.

Re: Both science and religion are wrong
The fabric of spacetime appears to be a quantum foam. So space isn't truly empty. It's a canvas with energy and matter interacting atop it. That canvas can be stretched, which was the point above. Beyond the edges of the canvas, if the 4 macro and all micro dimensions don't exist, then nothing exist...

The Accidental Superpower, Peter Zeihan.
I just recommended it in another thread, and thought that perhaps it wasn't widely read.

Re: America will be eternally mediocre.
While I'd agree the US is in the age of hubris and ripe for a reset, geography alone says it is anything but mediocre. From having the largest fertile plains region to self sufficiency in shale oil to a virtually unshared border up against the two major world oceans. Some of these ideas come from th...

Continuing this thread specific to morality of abortion, my responses are here: morality-of-abortion-t33341.html
Use this thread to continue a more philosophical discussion of consequentialism, unrelated to abortion in particular.

Re: Morality of Abortion
Hi Interbane, your ideas here are interesting. A consequentialist deterministic ethic of abortion is more complex than how you have described it so far, in my opinion. The consequences of any such decision extend beyond the individual circumstances to also affect the broader society and its values ...

Determinism and Morality
I need someone to run my ideas across, a devil's advocate. It's a complex topic and my understanding feels messy at this point. This will be somewhat train of thought, as a deterministic accounting of the morality of abortion. My starting assumption is that the universe is deterministic. Not in a sh...

I agree with you both. Any dissenters around?
Pete Buttigieg had an excellent response to the issue of abortion during the 2020 race. I often find myself referring back to it.

Morality of Abortion
What does everyone think of the recent Supreme court leak?
Should Roe VS Wade be overturned? Why or why not?
How deeply can you support your reasoning?
The foundational support appears to differ along religious vs secular morality.

That book has been sitting in my list. I think I'll grab it, along with his other book "The Matter With Things: Our Brains, Our Delusions and the Unmaking of the World"
