Re: Size of font to use for short stories

For me, it really depends on my eyesight that day! I usually use a size 12, but sometimes a size 16 is better when I've got to concentrate more.
Generally speaking though, looking at most of my book collection, the font size is about 16 :)

Looking for a few sonnet reccomendations?

Hi all,
I'm looking for some sonnet recommendations - recently picked up a book of poetry containing a few at the local library which sparked my interest so I'm now looking to read a few more of these 14-line joys! Any suggestions would be very welcome - thanks, The Bookworm :)

Re: What are your favorite children’s books.

My favourite children's books are all-time classics. The Railway Children, The Little Princess, The Secret Garden (quite a lot of Frances Hodgson Burnett here) and Black Beauty. I also remember vividly The Famous Five and Malory Towers.

On second thoughts, a slightly older nostalgic film for me would be Black Beauty.
Perfect for younger horse-lover me!!

A Man Called Otto. Definitely.
It was released in 2022 so don't know whether it can pass the "remained-with-me-for-years" mark, but it is a very touching movie and the plot has certainly stayed with me!

Re: old/rare books discussion

Hi, my friend recently found this site which has a section for old and rare books and she shared it with me :) I am currently looking for a few rare/old editions of my books to add to my collection too, so this website looks promising! Haven't ordered anything from there yet, but if you do let me kn...

Re: Do you EAT while you READ?

Sometimes...usually my eating/drinking intake whilst reading is limited to a mug of hot chocolate though! Maybe a biscuit or two but always put the book down for a min or two whilst munching and then pick it up again. Most of the time though, I don't - and especially not library books - it's not ver...

Re: Looking for help on buying Edgar Allan Poe books

Hi, I would try Amazon, they have some decently priced Edgar Allan Poe books last time I checked...Ebay might also be good but again, it is probable that the books you find there may be in worse condition. In terms of a non-physical copy and reading online, you could try Google Books (I found a free...

Re: If you could live inside a book, which one would it be?

I would love to live in The Railway Children. Honestly, it is one of my favourite books from my childhood and I can still remember thinking how nice it would be to live in a quaint little cottage with rolling hills and to go and spot the trains every day!
