Re: MAGA Rallies to start up
. . A rally in a 20,000 seat arena expected to draw tens of thousands more for outdoor cult-of-personality worship. During a national pandemic emergency exacerbated by racial strife. Maybe I'm not quite grasping the concept but there is one recurring image in my mind: The Who , Cincinnati, 1979. Tha...

Re: PermaFree ebook: The whole world is under the control of the Evil one
. . Kindergarten through 6th grade in a Catholic grammar school. 10th and 11th grade at a Catholic high school. Read the Bible. Spent hundreds of hours in various churches. Attended masses in English, Latin, Spanish, and Polish. Still, I was never able to figure out how people believed in God as if ...

Re: Dispatches from the Front Line of the Apocalypse
Now the New Yorker has joined the climate apocalypse discussion. "massive crop failures, apocalyptic fires, imploding economies, epic flooding, hundreds of millions of refugees fleeing regions made uninhabitable by extreme heat or permanent drought. If you’re under thirty, you’re all but guara...

Re: Some Notes on Evolution
As I stated, these are NOT my ideas. Take it up with Neil Shubin. Neil Shubin didn't post that here. I know evolution is a fact. The point is we need to interject some common sense here. We hiccup because of something we inherited from fish? Stop it. Just because someone's put that crap in a book b...

Re: Some Notes on Evolution
Those are the triggers of the reflex but not the reflex itself. I've often gotten hiccups for no reason at all. There is no particular reason why we should get hiccups. It doesn't serve any purpose. If you get hiccups while playing one of the members of the violin family, that can ruin a recital. W...

Re: Some Notes on Evolution

Eating too much or too quickly Feeling nervous or excited Drinking carbonated beverages or too much alcohol Stress A sudden change in temperature Swallowing air while sucking on candy or chewing gum webmd.com...

1. Chicago, Illinois (Dem) 2. Los Angeles, California (Dem) 3. New York, New York (Dem) 4. Washington, DC (Dem) 5. San Francisco, California (Dem) And yet these are the cities which Americans and tourists from all over the world visit most. They have the art museums, the ballet, the opera, the symp...

Re: How can we get people more interested in reading?
How: Instead of forcing children to read terrible books in school (30 min reading etc) they should actually be taught how to read well written books and given the tools required to read beyond the plot. Reading books for the plot is boring and provides nothing more than tv series or movies. Take yo...
