In my last book package I had her complete works. I just started with the stories in "In a German Pension" and I just loved it. Her portrait of the Germans is so accurate, detailed, sharp but not mean! (I read the German translation).

Anybody already finished this these chapters and wants to share impressions, opinions and thoughts?

Ptimb, I like your thoughts about the perspective. It puts a light on another layer of the story. In my opinion that is the fascination of this book - the multiple layer structure. What an interesting order....

I love this one. All it requires is basic ingredients with high quality (I sometimes have to smile on her insisting on a certain type of tomatoes etc.). The book helps to do everything from scratch (amazing pasta) with detailed explanations (no pictures, only drawings). My family loves the Ragu Bolo...
