Re: Science quiz
I've always wished I had shown more interest in math and science, but I wasn't that together as a student and as a result only tried in subjects that came more easily to me. But on thinking a little more about this, when we talk about science literacy being desirable, it's just like literacy in the arts, literature, or history--not a specialized knowledge of the field but just a basic grounding, a nodding acquaintance. I think that surveys of what we Americans know about history turn up even more discouraging results than these science findings. Have you seen Jay Leno's "Jaywalking" segments?
