strikes me that Sam Harris and Richard Dawkins need religious extremists in order to make their case for atheism which in their case is scientism.

Yes indeed.
And their promotion of atheism is to evangelize it immediately after creating caricatures of religious people.
Harris takes this one step further and racially discriminates against people that look like OBL.
The root of his blatant hostility is his brand of atheism that causes him to disdain people who look like their muslim.

Anyone who supports Harris's web of belief should have their morality seriously questioned.
We cant tolerate people like Harris who are willing to profile people based on their looks alone!

First he advocates a nuclear preemptive strike against Mulsims and now he wants people profiled if they look like terrorists!
His atheism is dangerous!
His sheeple are blind to it!

What I'm getting from ant's claim is that it's illegitimate to infer anything whatsoever from someone's appearance, but legitimate to attribute any mental trait to another one that we see as causal. False attribution.

What Harris said about profiling in the situation mentioned is similar to what religious conservatives might also say, so I don't see how a link to atheism makes any sense. I don't always agree with Harris, but it's admirable that he doesn't care on which side of the political divide his thinking lands him. Sometimes it's on the right, sometimes the left.

For the record, Harris has said he doesn't like the label atheist. It identifies him by a belief that doesn't apply to him. He doesn't consider himself an atheist for the same reason that he doesn't consider himself a nonastrologer.

Why is it all these Sam Harris disciples get so infuriated when one literally quotes the words of their master? It's so creepy and cultish.

Well, lets say you are looking for white supremacists.

We can probably spend less time on Wesley Snipes than we do on the guys from Duck Dynasty.
But that should not mean we push everybody with a neck-beard and swamper boots into the cavity search line.

There's simply no other way to define what Harris is promoting - it's called RACIAL PROFILING - and I'm mortified that anyone would even try to clean up his bigoted crap just because they admire him and his cult.

This type of atheism is so religious about its irreligiousness that it even goes as far as justifying racial profiling (and preemptive nuclear strikes and entire nations).
It hides its religiosity in order to infest the political arena without subjecting itself to wall of church and state.
