Reporting for duty!

Unread post

Hey everyone at Booktalk. My name is André, I'm 19 years old and I'm portuguese. ^^

Since this is a forum about books, I really need to ask: do you know any portuguese writers? And if so, tell me who are your favorites and your favorite books!

About me, I write since the age of 15. Mostly poetry. My favorite poet used to be Jim Morrison, but as I grew old I discovered names like Rimbaud, Whitman, Tennyson, Dylan Thomas and, perhaps my favorite one, Charles Bukowski. I also like Allen Ginsberg, Jack Kerouac, Paul Verlaine, you get the picture! =)

My favorite genre is fantasy. My favorite books are The Hobbit, the Harry Potter saga, A Song Of Ice And Fire (my favorite books are A Clash Of Kings and A Storm Of Swords), but in High School I also read Hamlet, Oedipus King, The Catcher In The Rye and Of Mice And Men, all great books I highly recommend.

That's basically it! I'll try to participate in my favorite book's discussions whenever I can and also bring you some of my own drafts. I hope we get along just fine!

Have a great day. ;) And good reads!

Hello André,

Welcome to BookTalk.org. :-)

No, I'm afraid I don't personally know of any Portuguese authors. I do believe we've had some José Saramago books on our polls.

Chris
