I just found out about your site and am looking forward to checking it out... I met Jeremy in a coffee shop this morning and, he is completely honest when he says he is very out-going! I have been going to that coffee shop to read every Saturday and Sunday morning for over 2 years. I see the same people every time and he is probably the 3rd person to strike up a conversation in all that time...and the 1st person who struck up an interesting one! Anyway, hello...I'm here. I have formal education in Sociology and an interest in Psychology, neuroscience and theories of mind. Recent reads include the Joseph Campbell "Trilogy" on myth (I already browsed that discussion thread). Also "Fabric of the Cosmos," "Sync," "Mind Wide Open," and Antonio Damasio's work.I also have an interest is eastern philosophies (as well as western). I am particularly interested in how different fundamental approaches to reality can shape (or perhaps limit) the types of people we can become. I am interested in linguistics for the same reasons...how our ideas can be shaped by the words that are available to us.I am probably interested in other things and I just don't realize it yet...I have a feeling I may discover a few of those interests here and am looking forward to that possibility! So, I'm looking forward to sharing ideas, and "Thanks" again to Jeremy!Kathy
