Since a couple of you have already read this one, perhaps we should consider one of Wright's other books, Nonzero: The Logic of Human Destiny or The Moral Animal. Both sound very good.

I think it is just me and DWill that have read The Evolution of God. My view is that The Evolution of God is the best choice for Booktalk September-October non-fiction choice. Its status as a Pulitzer Prize 2010 finalist could well attract a wider discussion at Booktalk, and it addresses the common booktalk themes of evolution, religion/atheism, history and politics. I second the request for DWill to moderate. Having trawled the site for his comments on this book (see above), I think DWill has made an astute reading of it that could help to guide any discussion.

Thanks for the links to Wright's other books. People who are really keen or well informed might be able to read them as well.

Thanks also for the Joseph Campbell suggestion. As it happens I just bought a copy of the 1968 edition of The Hero With a Thousand Faces, and look forward to reading it. Tat Tvam Asi is a big Joseph Campbell fan (witness his avatar). If that got up for October-November, I hope Tat might agree to moderate a discussion.
