Of course I've heard of Within Temptation! They are probably the most successful Dutch band in the world
I'm going to Rammstein in December (ever heard of them? They are German and you probably know their song 'America', because almost everyone does). But if you like Within Temptation, you should probably give Delain a shot as well (I saw them two years ago in a very small concert hall). Their keyboard player used to play for Within Temptation.

No, I've never heard of the German band (maybe I've heard of America, but I'm not sure), but I have heard of Delain.

First, to try to explain myself a bit.

I play guitar. My range goes from sweet, tinkly, lullaby-like serenades, strait to death metal with few stops between. You will see this outlined in my picks below.

I kept it on the lighter side for those interested, but check them out, you might be surprised about some of the heavier stuff near the bottom.

I like metal because the guitars all have something to say, rather than a guy flapping his hand against all the strings. Each guitar has something very specific to contribute to a song.

I enjoy this video. I think its hilarious that they redact the identities.

Regina spektor, as an artist weird but good. My wife hates her, i think she
is great.

I don't have links, but here you go: Break Your Heart by Barenaked Ladies, Tootie by Hootie and the Blowfish, Best of What's Around by Dave Matthews Band (makes me very happy), The One by Gary Allan, and I saved my absolute favorite for very personal reasons (don't laugh) When I See You Smile by Bad English. I have so many more, but I'm having a complete brain fart.

"Intervention"- The Arcade Fire. I found a particularly good video with Sergei "Battleship Potemkin," lyrics...

The king's taken back the throne,
The useless seed is sown,
When they say they're cutting off the phone,
I tell them you're not home.

No place to hide,
You were fighting as a soldier on their side,
You're still a soldier in your mind,
Though nothing's on the line.

You say it's money that we need,
As if we were only mouths to feed,
I know no matter what you say
There are some debts you'll never pay.

Working for the church
While your family dies.
You take what they give you
And you keep it inside.
Every spark of friendship and love
Will die without a home.

Hear the solider groan, "We'll go at it alone"

I can taste the fear.
Lift me up and take me out of here,
Don't want to fight, don't want to die,
Just want to hear you cry.

Who's going to throw the very first stone?
Oh! Who's going to reset the bone?
Walking with your head in a sling
Want to hear the soldier sing.

Working for the Church
While my family dies,
Your little baby sister's
Going to lose her mind,
Every spark of friendship and love
Will die without a home

Hear the soldier groan, "We'll go at it alone"

I can taste your fear,
It's going to lift you up and take you out of here,
And the bone shall never heal,
I care not if you kneel.

We can't find you now,
But they're going to get their money back somehow,
And when you finally disappear
We'll just say you were never here.

Been working for the church
While your life falls apart,
Singing hallelujah with the fear in your heart,
Every spark of friendship and love
Will die without a home.

Hear the soldier groan, "We'll go at it alone"
Hear the soldier groan, "We'll go at it alone"
"The constant questioning of our values and achievements is a challenge with which neither science nor society can remain healthy. "
-Bohr.

"Someday, on your tombstone, there will be two dates - and nobody realizes that all that mattered to you was that small dash in between"

In the beginning the Universe was created. This has made a lot of people very angry and been widely regarded as a bad move.

Combining one of my favorite movies with one of my favorite musicals, here is "Defying Gravity", from the musical Wicked, with graphics from Serenity.

Didn't know that band Owl City before I heard the song on the radio last week, it's really great! Can't explain what exactly I like about it, I just like it and it makes me feel happy. =)

Does anyone know more songs of them? Are they as great as Fireflies?
