Hi - I'm Grace

Unread post

Hey, everyone. My callname's gracefullgirll, Grace for short. I live in Florida, and I'm 16. I've been wanting to join an online book group since I started taking AP English, and now I've finally done it.

I like to sew and I play piano and violin. I like to write, and I'm currently dividing my spare time between writing a novel and, of course, reading! I've ended up accidentally ( ) reading all night more than once (and still managed to survive school the next day). As I'm sure everyone on this sight knows, it's always worth it :D

I enjoy mostly fantasy and science fiction books, but I'm willing to read from any genre if the book is well-written. I hope to expand my reading horizons here at BookTalk.

Same here. It's only April and already hot - ugh. When I go to college, it's definitely going to be somewhere up north.

You're lucky, stop grumbling this minute!!! We have had a lovely sunny week, quite warm, but not warm enough to sit in the garden or have a barbecue. It goes quite cold when the sun goes down. Still, for here, it's really good.

How brilliant to play the piano and the violin (not both at once of course).

Will you be studying music when you go to college?

I'd like to minor in music, because it's something I really love. But I'm probably going to major in science or mathematics - physics would be really neat. I might like to work for NASA or the Defense Department someday . . . but I'm not really sure. :hmm:

It is really odd that many musicians are also mathematicians isn't it? Music of all the arts has a great affinity with science/mathematics. Do you know the writer Anthony Burgess who wrote 'A Clockwork Orange' was a great jazz musician, but also a professor of mathematics at Keele University.

Of course Bach's preludes and fugues are called musical mathematics aren't they?
