No, The Wealth of Nations is a great suggestion no matter how big the book is. It is an important book to read. And it is much better to read something like that with a group than alone. :)

Seespotrun: I would be interested in reading Barack Obama Dreams of my Father.
I finished this yesterday. If you want my opinion, it'd be a fine selection. Made me proud, in fact, that we have such a thinking President-elect, and such a good writer. It might be a good book for us, too, in the sense that we don't go into race and identity much on this site. Maybe we tend to be pretty whitebread as a group?

I listened to his Audacity of Hope on audiobook and really enjoyed it.

We'll narrow it down to 3 books and create the poll very soon.

The Wealth of Nations is indeed far too big for BookTalk.org. Anyone wanting to read and discuss this book is welcome to do so in the Additional Non-Fiction Book Discussions forum, but we would have a fizzled out discussion after a few weeks if we attempted to tackle this one as an official discussion. From what I see on Amazon.com it is 1264 pages. This is more than 2x as big as we should consider. Even a 600 page book is pushing the envelope.
