On page 99, Wilson describes Edenic as, "...period of biodiversity, as measured by paleontologists...It ended fifty to ten millennia ago, with the ascent of...dense populations, and deadly efficiency in the pursuit of wildlife...". In my words, "before humans really started to mess things up". I love learning new words!
