Some of you know I'm going through some rough personal stuff right now so I really appreciate the help you guys are giving me in getting these book discussions started. I like the idea of starting one fiction book discussion on May 1st and the next on June 1st. So they are a bit staggered. If you guys can agree to the two books I'll take care of getting the forums created. :thanks2:

The debut collection of raucous, dark, strange, satirical stories from the former Late Show with Stephen Colbert writer and New Yorker contributor, featuring a foreword by Stephen Colbert.

“Jen Spyra’s stories are shocking, silly, smart, and absurdly funny. Underline both those words, I don’t care how much it costs!”
—Tina Fey

These stories look very interesting. But this is also a strong recommendation based on my laziness. You see, the local Jewish Community Center will host this author and discuss the book on 5/10/22. So, if BookTalk selects this book, I can knock out two discussions with one read. :-D
I vote for the Jen Spyra book as a May fiction selection. I read her hilarious first story at the free "look inside" link from the link above about the bride to be looking to lose weight and it is a lot of fun. I hope it is not too politically incorrect to be so rude to fat people.

I'm creating a forum for Big Time: Stories - by Jen Spyra right now. We can start a different fiction book June 1st so that they are staggered. Thanks guys. Just let me know which fiction you want to start next.

I'm locking this thread since the dates no longer correspond properly to the upcoming discussions periods. There are some excellent fiction suggestions here so hopefully you guys post them again in the new thread I am about to create. We need to find a new fiction book for June, July & August 2022. Look for that thread as an "Announcement" thread at the top of this forum.
