Post New member intro: lanternatdusk
Hi everyone,

I came across these discussion forums today after some time of searching for communities that were open, active, and altogether interesting. I have high hopes as I begin watching this one. Overall, it's very difficult to find online discussion communities due to the way users engage one another in the 2020's. My reason for seeking out an online discussion community was due in part to my dissatisfaction with social media as a communication medium; I've always noted that it was largely ineffective at supporting discussions that required more depth and engagement from its participants. Maybe there's a bit more to it, like I'm really just an angry, antisocial type, looking for a place to sulk and so on, but I'll let you, the community decide. ;)

I hope I have a chance to engage all of you at some point in the near future. Have an excellent day.

I agree with you in that Facebook (and other social media platforms I'm sure) are pretty superficial and shallow. I've yet to succeed in pulling people from Facebook to BookTalk.org too. People seem to want their social interactions to be quick, immediately satisfying and then over.
