With all of the talk of Biden's dementia, Biden's inability to string five words together sensibly, the never-Biden people put themselves in a funny position leading up to Biden's convention speech. Their diagnoses were always based on limited data, generalized to the whole person. So, according to their prediction Biden should not have been able to do what he did last Thursday. But what, after all, did he do in being able to stand for 22 minutes and speak coherently? Nothing special at all--thousands of others can do that, too; it's no qualification for the presidency. Yet Biden left the accusers of his senility with egg on their faces just in being able to do that unremarkable thing.

The content of his speech was remarkable, though. Of course, it was typical in laying out accomplishments that he will never be able to achieve, fully or maybe not at all. But these speeches are supposed to be highly aspirational, and his was. He laid out a very strong case that he can lead us, lead us back.

Gotta love the "our dunsel is better than your dunsel" propaganda campaign.
Ant, you have stated several times that you think Biden suffers from dementia (this is the FoxNews narrative as well), and that he's being kept out of site to hide his dementia from the American public. Both these statements have been presented without evidence.

And so now that Biden has come out of the basement to successfully deliver the Democratic nominee speech, you only persist in calling him names and diging in your heels more. Biden could ride a unicycle on a tight wire while juggling bowling pins and singing the lyrics to Gilbert and Sullivan's "Modern Major General" song and you would still persist in seeing him as an idiot. The bar—or rather the goalpost—will continue to move wily nilly because you are emotionally and ideologically opposed to Biden and the Democrats.

And in case you haven't noticed, the bar (as it were) for president isn't set very high right now.

Not entirely true - I've refreshed that since and have said dementia requires a medical diagnosis.
Having said that, he clearly shows signs of senility.

Mischaracterization

Harry,

You need to stop swallowing misrepresentations of what I've said.
This bubble has taken its toll on you

Alas, it is not clear to me. Maybe you could offer some examples?

I've said several times now that we need to see how the two candidates do in a debate or a series of debates.

Just use the search engine and you'll see my calibration of the word. Pretty certain i've indicated he is showing indications of senility.

I agree.. but will we actually see it now that the democratic party has migrated into cyberspace?

Unlike all of you, I like to give credit where it is due.

Recently Joe Biden tweeted his condolences to Trump after the death of his brother.

Very classy.

by "all of you" I am referring to the old BT core, not our newest members

Um, I think you're too quick to pat your own back, ant. I gave Trump credit for something more substantial, the agreement between the UAE and Israel.

How is any of that article ‘woke liberalism’ ?. You do realize that World Socialists and neo-libertarians have more in common than American Leftists have with either, right?. You do realize that neo-conservatives and socialist were behind Brexit, right?. You do realize that those conservatives in DWills’ vein reject the neo-libertarian and socialist view and actually have more in common with American leftists, right?.

Getting to the first part of the article, I would agree that self segregation is probably not a good idea for any race. It is however a trend that has been happening in the U.S. as long as various groups have moved into the middle class. The suburbs of Atlanta come to mind. I also get and agree with the idea that some non-whites might be burned out on having ‘race’ discussions with white people. At a minimum its tedious. Wouldn’t you agree?
