Re: "Dutchess County": An Imaginative Biopic of Washington Irving
You may, or may not, be interested in visiting Irvington, Tarrytown, and Sleepy Hollow. They're about 6 hours north of Alexandria, Virginia. He's buried in Sleepy Hollow. Irvington is named after him and it contains his house, Sunnyside. Tarrytown shares the Headless Horseman legend with Sleepy Hollow.

Thank you for your note. I have indeed been to Sunnyside and Sleepy Hollow and took a tour of the Old Dutch Church and cemetery where Irving is buried. It was a wonderful experience that took me back in time.

An Amazon review:
"As I read this it reminded me of "The Man Who Invented Christmas" with the exception that this was true and covered more of Irving's stories. It was also fun to get into the creative mind of Washington Irving. It could be rewarding to a writer (or future writer). It adds dimension to the works Irving wrote with the voice-overs as he created the characters and their interactions. It was a fun and worthwhile read."

Struggling young author Washington Irving embarks on a journey through the Hudson River Valley, resulting in the creation of his beloved tale "The Legend of Sleepy Hollow." A tale of romance, adventure, and the supernatural, told innovatively in screenplay form.

From an Amazon review:
"DUTCHESS COUNTY: A SCREENPLAY is a moving, cinematic, meaningful biopic of Washington Irving (1783-1859), credited with being the first American “Man of Letters” and the Father of the American Short Story. We glimpse a pivotal time in American history—pre-Revolution to post-Revolution, the “Age of Reason” to the “Age of Romanticism.” Irving bridges the Old World of Europe and the New World of America. He influenced many of the nineteenth century English great writers—Scott, Dickens, Thackeray—and in America, Longfellow. American literature gained respect (finally, and perhaps grudgingly)."
