Post Re: Why isn't Joe Biden holding press conferences?
I do have some concern over Biden's health, mainly due to his age. The presidency ages a man (or a woman, when one is elected). Just go back at look at pictures of a president when he entered office, and when he left.

And don't forget, if he is elected, Biden will be the oldest president ever at the time of taking office. So yes, his health is important. Equally important is his choice of a vice-president. Nine vice-presidents have succeeded to the oval office on the death of their predecessor. Biden should choose carefully.

Ah, yes, we do miss Barack Obama in that sense. He was intelligent, distinguished, articulate—the stuff that makes a president presidential. My gosh, he was only 47 years old at the start of his presidency. Now look where we are.

I agree..

you certainly have to be intelligent to build cages for immigrant families for someone else to use and take all the blame.

what audiences has Biden given these alleged conferences and what was the extent of the interaction at the time?

Did I say Biden had held press conferences?

Quote ant: “this is immoral and part of the many problems we have in the U.S politics “

Your objective morality doesn’t work. Your routine false equivalences do not work.

There are many right-on points being posted here but you just ignore them and keep driving the same tired idea that ‘God is the ultimate authority that there is no room for moral relativism, Just doesn’t work.

You called me “low-brow” because I wrote that you were “full of shit”.. Well you’re not much if any better. Your arguments are practiced, they are rehearsals, your writing has zero style. Your thoughts are mundane, you ignore the potential influences of the Castro brothers from Texas and the positive influences they’ll have for this country if given the chance. PSfB won’t do that but guess what, Biden will.

You wrote about lowering the bar of what’s presidential, you plainly ignore the substandard reprobate occupying the White House just to bad mouth a stutterer. Get off it man and be truthful with yourself.

I’m reminding myself of this notion of Obama being the “deporter and chief “ Isn’t it more humane to send people back home than some freaky, indefinite period of incarceration?

I could be wrong but one does seem better than the other.

Whiffle-balls what a poor idea of logic.

Post Re: Why isn't Joe Biden holding press conferences?
Biden is a nag running full tilt for the glue factory. The Dems know it but won't do the decent thing and put him down, because he has an empty saddle on his back. It will be interesting to see who's been picked as his vice-presidential running mate. She (he said it'll be a woman), she will inherit the presidency almost immediately, and in a kind of satanic ceremony Ol' White Joe will be sacrificed via the 25th Amendment. The new Prez will then make a commemorative blood sacrifice. It's what the mob will expect. Biden said that anywhere from 10% to 15% of Americans "are just not very good people," so that's 40 million, give or take. I think the Powers That Be might slap Elizabeth Warren's bony ass in the VP saddle. That withered old Bolshy could kill 40 million Americans without a backward glance.

At any rate, yes, Biden's a gibbering fool.

You'd be wise to agree that he hasn't given press conferences. In fact, today was his first in the past 89 days.

That is woefully pathetic when you consider the current political climate, the anarchy happening in democratic run cities, and during the worst pandemic of the past century.

It's unfathomable some people think it's some sort of good strategy.
It's weak.

Post Re: Why isn't Joe Biden holding press conferences?
Please go back and reread my post. I was questioning whether press conferences are an expectation of candidates for office. Those are the affairs where the official responds to questions from the press, the ones that have been rare for President Trump, if you exclude the virus briefings he held for a while. Do candidates normally do that? Did Trump himself, as a candidate, give press conferences in 2016? I didn't know, but it seemed perhaps unlikely that they would. Anyone with information could chime in, and we all would learn something.

Post Re: Why isn't Joe Biden holding press conferences?
Ii get it that voters need to have confidence that Joe Biden has the mental competence for a job as demanding as the presidency. I don't know what they'll be able to see that wasn't revealed in the many debates Biden was in, but ok, it's not out of line to want to see him in action more. This has been an unusual election season, with the nomination wrapped up early, and of course a pandemic to hamper everybody getting around as usual. There is a certain rate and rhythm to a campaign, and I just think Biden's activity level isn't out of the ordinary, especially considering the pandemic, and will ramp up after the convention.

I keep going back to why the nomination was wrapped up so early.
What was wrong with Kamala Harris, or Tulsi Gabbard?

Someone here (think it was Harry) mentioned KH might have been a good choice. My support was for Tulsi for reasons I've already stated.

What's the matter with the party of diversity? Aren't they ready for a female president of color?

Why business as usual - throw in the old white guy, who's showing serious signs of senility?

Unless they plan on replacing him at some point.

Post Re: Why isn't Joe Biden holding press conferences?
It was going the wrong way for Biden before S. Carolina. The party had to face waving good-bye to him. Wasn't his decisive victory in S.C. his resurrection? That victory was said to have been fueled by black voters who wanted to reward Biden for his loyalty to Barack Obama. The South saved Biden. But was there more than just that going on that I can't see? Probably. The biggest factor might have been Democratic party people's great unease at putting up a candidate whom Republicans could accuse of being a radical socialist. They feared a repeat of Nixon's slaughter of McGovern in '72. Still, it was the voters who decided. As far as I'm aware, the DNC didn't have its hand on the scale, as it did in 2016 when Clinton and Sanders were slugging it out.

Biden is a less risky candidate. Voters in the end chose someone who they felt had the best chance of beating Trump, even if they didn't think Biden was anything special. This is going to be an election driven by anti-Trump feeling, as the last was driven by anti-Clinton feeling.

Democrats know they're settling by having Biden. To counteract that very conservative choice, they're almost certain to select a woman of color as VP.

Bernie Sanders had much to do with this, I think. He was a polarizing figure and many voters went with Biden as the safest bet to win against Trump in November. At some point Biden had won enough primary contests that the other candidates began throwing in the towel. I don't believe there were any DNC shenanigans involved.

For all those desperate Republicans out there looking at a big loss, he said Jill Biden.

Biden has previously used this "Jill Biden's husband" line. Jill Biden holds a doctorate in educational leadership. Joe and Jill Biden have been married since 1977.
