Post I have self published my first poetry collection, l am looking for support and potential buyers
Hello forum, I am a 20-year-old Baltimore Native who has self-published my first poetry collection. This poetry collection is one where I speak about mental health, environment trauma, childhood trauma, and self-love. I would like to share my book and get as much support as I possibly can. Please check out my book and leave reviews. The link is on the BookTalk new authors page and the featured books page. Thank You :thanks2:

Here is a poem from the book:

Of Platonic Nature:

I cut my ear off and hold it firmly to my heart. I can still hear my heartbeat regardless of my missing appendage. The beat my heart plays sounds so distant but familiar. My mind believes that this sound is compassion, years of continuous programming leaving me stumped.
The comprehension of compassion has me aloof. Compassion is so raw and beautiful; my initial reaction was to cry. Yet my tear ducts run dry, irritation sets where tears would typically fall. I had become desensitized; the moment I understood what feelings were, they were confiscated from me. My innocence snatched away, in turn for manufactured feelings taught through entertainment. I knew nothing of compassion, but what white-collar businessmen allowed me to believe. Forcefully penetrating my subconscious, shaping me into an animatronic for monetary gain. The heart placed within my chest cavity was inherited naturally, but the emotions that resided inside were unnatural. What could be regarded as an abnormal situation; became the universal custom.
