Clarke's Rendevous With Rama
may be my favorite sci-fi novel of all time. It's the one I recommend to people at least, when they ask which sci-fi book they should read.
The last thing I read by Clarke was "The Sentinel," the short story that sparked Stanley Kubrick into making the movie 2001: A Space Odyssey

It will be interesting to see what Clarke predicted about the future. I wonder what he has to say about computers? The personal computer grew out of advances made during the manned space missions.
