I picked this up on kindle last night and read the first chapter. Fascinating book.

Worth having a look at the wikipedia page about Appalachia

I've ordered a copy of the book as well.

I read somewhere that Ron Howard is going to direct a film based on this book.

My book arrives on 1/5. This happens to be a book I listed on Goodreads for my 2018 Reading Challenge. I'm happy to find this discussion.

Hi, I am new to booktalk. I finished Hillbilly Elegy a month or so ago and really enjoyed it. The authenticity of Vance's voice as he described his life was compelling. The picture he painted of that life was revealing and informative.
