How should this discussion forum be formatted?

We often create a separate thread for each chapter but sometimes those threads are intimidating. We don't always have something to say about each individual chapter. So what are your thoughts on how this discussion should progress? Just wing it? 8)

Chapter threads, and possibly thematic threads, will be the way to go, but I think it is better just to wait until people have something to say about each chapter and can start their own threads.
