New children’s book shares tale of bald princess aimed at teaching children to embrace who they are

Rosaria L. Calafati announces publication of debut book, ‘Who Are You?’
JACKSON, N.J. – In a beautiful kingdom, hidden beyond the Enchanted Forest, lives a young princess named Ella. She is different from other princesses; Ella had no hair. She often tries to hide her head with scarves and headbands and doesn’t like looking into mirrors. Ella always dreams of one day exploring beyond the majestic doors of the castle. However, to do that, she must pass through the Grand Hall, but there are so many dreaded mirrors on the walls. These mirrors are the guardians of the castle, and will not let anyone pass unless they are recognized.

Inspired by her own struggles with breast cancer and the realization that people looked at her differently without her hair, Rosaria L. Calafati wrote “Who Are You? Ella the Enchanted Princess” (published by Archway Publishing) to teach children to embrace and love who they are, no matter what they look like.

“My overall theme of my book is to inspire children to believe in themselves,” Calafati says. “Being different does not have to be a struggle, but can very easily be changed into a blessing. Through Ella's adventures, children will relate to her and feel confident that they can accomplish what they set their minds to do.”
