An Idea For a Story: I need help

Unread post

I recently had a thought that spontaneously popped into my head. I thought of an idea for a story... Maybe, a murderer framed someone else for a murder and then subsequently was called in for jury duty. When the actual murderer went in for jury duty, it was the trial for the person he framed. He then swings the rest of the jury to believe that the framed person is guilty.
I need help with how go about doing specific things. For example, how the real murderer convinced the rest of the jury to believe that the framed person is guilty. Or what the pacing and characters should be like. I have already planned out some stuff, but I just wanted to have some input and ideas. Thanks! :clap2:

Sounds like an interesting plot. To get some ideas on jury deliberations, I would suggest starting with the movie "Twelve Angry Men" if you can find a copy. While it takes a different viewpoint, it might give you some insight.

A couple of questions. Why did the murderer frame this particular individual? How did he (or she) go about doing it? Are the murderer and the 'framee' the same sex?

I will think on this and see if I can come up with any other ideas.

You could have the murderer engage in jury intimidation. He'd be working with them, learn a lot about them, act all nice and decent, but use bizarre and creative indirect threats from the outside to sway votes.
Or he could be a mega-jerk in the jury room, physically and emotionally intimidating the others, which does actually happen on juries sometimes. This could bring out his killer instincts, leading some jurors to wonder about his innocence.
Or he could bring out details about framing the victim that didn't come out at trial. "Hey my sister knows somebody who says XYZ" that contradicts his alibi. Not legal, but...
Or some combo of the above...
Have fun / good luck!
