I recommend Trump Revealed, by Washington Post reporters Micheal Kranish and Marc Fisher. The subtitle is An American Journey of Ambition, Ego, Money, and Power. When the book was published last August, probably most people were not thinking of it as a bio of a future president, just one of a very unlikely nominee. Now we know.

Although right after the book came out, Trump called it a "hit job," and said, "Don't read it," he cooperated gladly with the authors, sitting for more than 20 hours of interviews in the middle of a presidential campaign, which is extraordinary.

It's not a hit job. It doesn't portray a person with no redeeming qualities. It's simply good reporting.
