Heh, well I certainly knew better than to expect you to provide a broader definition that eliminates the conflict as requested.ant wrote:And thats your narrow definition of religion, so thanks for going out of your way to prove my point.Fundamentalists in America are quite conflicted about it

I do enjoy when you take up both sides of an argument.ant wrote:Your personal philosophical system is not a reliable source of Truth.
As a product of evolution, your essential traits are fightling, fleeing, feeding, and reproducing.
Frankly, your evolutionary development does not include wiring for abstract logic and reasoning.
To imply that your system of reasoning has risen you above what nature has primarily wired you for is contrary to your nature as simply a carrier of genes that wish to survive.. You arent wired for Truth (cap "T") nor can any of your claims of Truth be trusted.
Unless of course youre going to tell us all youre certain you are wired differently than the rest of your fellow monkeys.
Are you?
Why? Because you attended university?
It's just an evolutionary bonus that youve arrived at the Truth of anti theism, huh?

It's going to take some good old fashion deep reading on your part.LanDroid wrote:Heh, well I certainly knew better than to expect you to provide a broader definition that eliminates the conflict as requested.ant wrote:And thats your narrow definition of religion, so thanks for going out of your way to prove my point.Fundamentalists in America are quite conflicted about it
Being handed a pithy bumper sticker cliché by someone like Richard Dawkins hasnt done your intellect any good, except for maybe fueling your biases.
Youve probably been comfortable with "Religion flys you to the moon" as a definition for too long.
Here's a really good book to get you started:
The Rise of Early Modern Science: Islam, China, and the West - Toby E. Huff.
Research and proper perspective, Lann. Thats the key.

I do enjoy it when you stay on the sidelines cheering Interbane on, like a little girl.

What's wrong with being a little girl?
This seems like it's better than being wrong on purpose.

Are you pushing your own short comings on us and safely hating them from a distance?
Is this the virtue of faith? To never change your mind: especially when you should?
Young Earth Creationists take offense at the idea that we have a common heritage with other animals. Why is being the descendant of a mud golem any better?
