This is me checking in. I've downloaded it to my iPhone and have read Chapter 1 which sounds like it might be a love story. I know it won't . Anyway , I've Googled Verbena and everything

I can't remember all but the bare bones of TKAM but I remember the character of Atticus and his daughter, from the film and I think the boork is about character and integrity from the blurb.

We're seeing a good turn out for this book discussion which makes me very happy. :-)

Penelope has volunteered to lead this discussion. Thank you, Penelope! ;-)

I read the book already. I could not help it. The first Chapter I think sets the tone of the book. You really don't have to remember too much about TKAM. I don't know how to do this discussion. Would like some tips.

I never read TKAM, so my impressions are/will be totally from the movie.

The movie is one of the closest film adaptations I've seen. You'll not be missing a beat by using the film version as a reference.

LisaRose64 - Don't worry about not knowing how to do the discussion. Just jump in chapter by chapter and see what occurs to you. Everyone will be affected in a different way depending on age, gender, nationality, disposition....so your opinions will add to the diversity and enrich our understanding of the book and of each other.

We don't like to just nod our heads in agreement......,We like a good ding-dong, as it were.

Umm Penelope. I am not into ding-dongs. I take it this is a UK phrase. LOL

Yes it is. A ding- dong is an sharp exchange of words. Quaint aren't I?

Very Cool. Here in the US Ding Dong is a snack cake, usually that kids eat. I am ashamed to say, I like them too.
