My comment about the going rate for qualified torturers was pure sarcasm...I'm not naive about what our or other governments do. I believe we don't know the half of it! I guess I should have noted that in some way. Guess it's difficult to communicate your meaning clearly without seeing a face, a smile, a tone of voice. My humor is on the dry side :)...

Torture only "works" if the interrogator doesn't care about the truth, but only wants to hear a certain specific confession from a certain someone in order to justify what they're going to do to the victim anyway. And since this is how the criminal "justice" system works against people of color here in America, one can only assume that we're extending the same courtesy to people who aren't under the "protection" of the Constitution.
Boy that's a lot of sarcastic quotation, huh?
