Hi poetry readers,
I would like to recommend this book of forty poems:
http://www.amazon.co.uk/The-Sky-that-Fa ... 152&sr=8-1
The poetry book was inspired by poems including Dylan Thomas' 'Do Not Go Gentle into that Goodnight' and John Ashbery's 'Pantoum.'
The poetry within this book handles certain poetic forms that are still not quite fully developed in the modern age of poetry.

Re: Poetry Book: the Sky that Falls
Hi there, I just thought I'll include a little clip of some of my poetry in the collection. This part is taken from a poem called 'The Boy on the Train' in The Sky that Falls:
I realise there's a chain on my neck
And fondle it with my fingers quite light,
Looked as if my words would advance on him,
Yet, I said nothing; I wanted his eye
Contact; wanted to speak but what would I
Say? Quite enough that I was his cougar.
I realise there's a chain on my neck
And fondle it with my fingers quite light,
Looked as if my words would advance on him,
Yet, I said nothing; I wanted his eye
Contact; wanted to speak but what would I
Say? Quite enough that I was his cougar.

Re: Poetry Book: the Sky that Falls
Hi Poeticjustin, I'm glad you're into poetry as much as I am. I had a listen to the radio interview you put up on book talk. That's a really great way to go.
I'm looking for ways to promote my own book too, because it's my first published collection, and each poem is fully written so it takes up a whole page of its own. I had a look at your own poems too, and I preferred your most recent collection (Like a Box of Chocolates) to the horror ones. The reason for this is because as a reader I prefer fuller and longer poetry than short and abrupt ones. I know you might be writing more poems in future, so can I recommend that you write a lot fuller and longer ones (like your more recent collection) because as a poetry reader, that's where I feel I'm getting more of my moneys worth.
Perhaps you can also include more poetry. I'm planning to do that myself for the next collection I'm working on. It's great to have talks with like-minded poets.

Hey Angelgirl,
Thanks for listening to the interview and thanks for the advice. I definitely plan on writing more poetry so I'll definitely consider making them longer. Glad to hear a fellow poet enjoyed them. Best of luck to you and I'll check out your poetry collection.

Re: Poetry Book: the Sky that Falls
Hi poetry readers, I would like to share with you another cover version that's available of The Sky that Falls. This particular cover version is a pricier book than the other cover versions. The reason for this is because:
1. The cover is a lot more attractive, and
2. Every poem within the book is decorated with a pretty, illustrated border.
The book is available here:
http://bookstore.xlibris.com/Products/S ... Falls.aspx
http://www.barnesandnoble.com/w/the-sky ... 1499087062
http://www.amazon.co.uk/The-Sky-that-Fa ... 1499087062
.. and every page writes a poem of its own.
