I am heaping ridicule on this topic in the most efficient way i know, letting people read about Thomas Troward and his philosophies from wikipedia.
Mental "science" involves the power of prayer to heal.
It is good of you to call for clarity, Ant. Lets hope you remember that siren call the next time you practice your bobbing and weaving.

What is it exactly that I am "bobbing and weaving" from?
It just might be that I am firmly in the epistemic modestly cautious camp and you're in the other camp.

yeah blibooks-com has all these free texts but it seems some of them are.. how do you say.. something completely different 
i delved into another blibooks-com text called "Escaping Hell". I definitely couldn't recommend it. Unless of course you are adept at battling Dominion/Lucifer on the astral plane (and have $125 to burn and some more cash besides for the additional fees that apparently apply)

If his wishes are in line with the
forward movement of the everlasting principle, there is nowhere in Nature any power to
restrict him in their fulfilment. If they are opposed to the general forward movement, then
they will bring him into collision with it, and it will crush him.
