Hello everyone!
I'm Audrey and I'm new to the lounge, just looking for peers and some advice and guidance from anyone who has launched or completed a successful crowdfunding campaign for financing their book.
Anybody?
Thanks!

Anyone have any advice on how to successfully fund an Indiegogo campaign?

Re: Anyone have any advice on how to successfully fund an Indiegogo campaign?
Hi Audrey!
I funded my children's book through Kickstarter last year. It was a lot of hard work but if you persist and treat it like a job I'm sure you'll get it done.
Some tips:
- Put A LOT of time and effort both getting the page ready and during the entire campaign. You really do need to treat it like a job
- Make a video. If you are not comfortable editing find a friend who is.
- You will need to hit up all your friends and family. Email, facebook, twitter, instagram, everything.
- Create a facebook page about your indiegogo project page.
- Start a blog and write some articles about your experience
- Don't be shy. That doesn't mean it's ok to spam but try to find places online where people talk about books and engage them in your idea.
Hope that helps a little and good luck!

Hello.
Thanks for your reply, and actually it is very helpful. I thought about starting a separate Facebook for my project page so I will do that, and I will also get a blog done as well.

You're welcome! If I can think of anything esle I'll be sure to post them here.
Just a side note, I paid for the advertising on facebook which did get me quick a few more 'likes' on my facbook project page but I had no way of knowing if that translated to actual bids on Kickstarter. Just another thing to think about.
