I thought that "What's Your Number" with Anna Faris was pretty funny. I heard it was much much better than the book.

Re: All Time Best Comedy Movies
I don't think I can answer this one. How do you define 'comedy'? Is it the slapstick humor of the Three Stooges (my older son thinks they are the funniest -- btw he is in his forties). Is it the cerebrl and dry wit of William Powell and Myrna Loy in the Thin Man series? Is is the rubber face of Red Skelton? I do know what I don't like. Toilet tongued men and women (I refuse to call them comedians) who substitute four-letter words for humor. Sorry, but too many of the movies listed here just don't cut it for me.
As a kid, my favorites were Abbot and Costello.

My favourite comedy film is 'Clockwise' with John Cleese - just genius.
But....Woody Allen's - 'The Sleeper' comes a close second.

I never watched 'Desperate Housewives' when it was being broadcast on our TV here. But now I am watching back to back episodes on my Kindle Fire. It is hilarious, and I love it. OH would hate it. I think it is a woman's series, so it is good to watch it without sighs of disapproval in the background.

Re: All Time Best Comedy Movies
I thought "Burn after Reading" was hilarious, but with a nice Coen brothers' edge to it.
The other night, when I couldn't sleep, I found myself watching an old Cary Grant/Kate Hepburn movie: Bringing up Baby (1938). It was absolutely hilarious, and Kate Hepburn was simply delightful - but maybe I was just sleep-deprived.

love Bringing up Baby too. Have you seen Cary Grant in Arsenic and Old lace - simply a perfect film by the greatest director of all time.
