Liberty for Kids

Unread post

Hi,

Below is one of many quick starts of a book I have in mind, but time does not permit continuing the effort at this moment, other things are needed. I have this idea of writing a book on a forum where the effort is directed by readers as readers comment on the book progress, and that is the process that drives the book, questions and answers in a discussion on a forum. This is not such a wild idea so much as it is personal experience culminating up to this point in time.

Introduction

More than the air we breath, the food we eat, the health we can afford, there is a substance required called Liberty and life ends without it.

Chapter I

The Power Struggle

A.
Falsehood

The good and bad news is defined along the way in time and space, each person finding their own way, or being directed this or that way by other people, and combinations of welcome voluntary movement combine with unwelcome compulsory movement where confusion may build as people lose their own way. The really bad news does not arrive on time when failure to secure the required power of knowledge is a personal failure. There are reasons for this condition of life, this unfordable cost of failure, this sudden end, and those reasons may become known in time - yet.

B.
Knowledge

Knowing the absolute necessity of knowing can be as easy as flipping a coin on a cross road where the traveler desires to exist. Does the path to the right, which is a turn of ninety degrees, eventually lead to instant death upon reaching the bottom of a thousand foot cliff? Does the path through the cross road, going straight, involve a cataclysmic crash as soon as the traveler enters the intersection because another traveler will be passing through with a very massive vehicle traveling at a very high speed, from left to right, on toward the cliff, and certain death? Is it better to turn around and travel back in the direction from which the traveler came from before reaching the threshold of this theoretical intersection? Flip the coin. Flip the coin a thousand times. Eventually the knowledge of having to find nourishment will overpower the lack of knowledge concerning anything else that may cause the traveler to fail to know any better than standing idle at an intersection flipping a coin. We proceed by some power - which power?
