I have 2 cats and a dog. The dog is a black lab whose main goal in life is to eat anything we will give her. When we're eating she smacks at us to remind she is there and wants something. One of my cats who is named Kitten is the best cat I've ever had. We fostered his mom when she was pregnant and when he was born it was love at first site. He's been with me his whole life and is completely in-tune to my moods. The other cat who we call Calli I just got. She was abandoned by the people who used to live across the street. They left her declawed and shelterless in the middle of winter. One day when I was taking out some garbage she saw me, meowed and came running to me. She is now sleeping on my couch looking like she owns the place. When I first brought her in I noticed she limps alot. So I took her to the vet, they did and x-ray and it turns out that she has arthritis and one of her knee caps is off to the side. This is consistant with someone kicking her. So I think she was abused. She is really skittish and is scared everyone but me. Lol. Sorry for the long winded post.

I don't much care for cats, but my wife and daughter take in strays (currently we have six, three indoors and three barn cats.) What really annoys me is that my Jeep Wrangler, which I don't keep the top on in summer, smells like cat pee inside.

Olivia, there is a special place in Heavan for you and for all others who take in abandoned/abused animals. We currently have two cats, Rascal and Little Bit (both females). Rascal adopted us; showed up at the back door and stayed. When our older cat died (at 16) we got LB to keep Rascal company. They can be a handful, especailly during WCCW (World Championship Cat Wrestling) sessions, but they keep us entertained.

When our kids were kids, at one time we had two dogs, a cat, a rabbit, two gerbils, a bird, and a couple of aquariums. (Yes, at the same time). My niece said we "lived in a zoo."

Thank you Cattleman. I can't stand to see an abandoned or abused animal. I mean, if you feel the need to be cruel to an animal or have no intention of giving it the love, attention, and care that they deserve than why get a pet in the first place? I truly don't understand the cruelty of some people. Hahaha @ WCCW! I was worried about that when we brought Calli (she's a calico. I know I pick such original names) in. Kitten is 15 and has always been the only cat so I thought he would be really territorial but he has surprised me. He is really gentle with her. Kitten has this pillow that he has claimed as his bed that he usually won't let anyone touch but he's been letting Calli sleep on it with him. It's so cute.
