Oh Gilbert, you rascal!
Those who participated in this book discussion should remember the "nonsensical" notes Sunday threw at his pursuers in Chapter 13. The consensus among scholars has been that they are meaningless, but I never thought so. Off and on, I have been puzzling over them. I managed to find some pieces which I thought belonged in the puzzle but was not sure, until reading the Father Brown story, The Blue Cross. In that story GKC provided double confirmation that one of the pieces is significant. Whether I elaborate here will depend on interest. Anyone interested?
