For A Natural History of the Senses a good description is here: http://www.nstperfume.com/2006/10/28/a- ... ok-review/

It is a non-fiction book about the way our senses help us in a day to day way, it is beautifully written and will actually make you smell things better, the whole world seems brighter, and makes you appreciate every part of life a little more.

Diane Ackerman has published many books, but this is by far her best. It was a National Bestseller, which is a high honor for a non fiction book.

I'll create a poll with the suggestions already made in this thread later tonight.

We simply don't have enough suggestions OR feedback on the existing suggestion to create a poll. This puts me in quite a bind. Do I wait around to see if more suggestions and feedback arrive (risking running out of time in January to create a poll and pick the February & March book) or do I create the poll with a group of books I personally select?

The problem has been solved. :) I just spent some time looking through all of the discussions in the non-fiction book forums and found a handful of books that are clearly of interest to several members. I'll create the poll now and I think many of you will be quite pleased with the choices.
