This was a lengthy discussion about the fallacious internet school of Mythicism, but well worth it for the curious.
Dr. Foreman demonstrates the inadequacies of mythicist claims - lack of sufficient evidence, no original sources to cite, conspiracy theory spreading, parallelomania, and the origins of the very old and unoriginal roots of mythicism founded within the context of German Anti Semitism and disdain for all religions of the world.
This makes sense. If youve found a mythicist, youve likely also found a person who is hateful and angry towards Christianity.
It's fascinating that perhaps all of the internet mythicist generation are totally oblivious to the historical backdrop of their mythicist beliefs which were based on disdain for a JEWISH prophet, and jewish people in general.
It saddens me to think how hatred from tbe past can infect gullible people decades later

Refuting Zeitgeist The Movie -
Mark Foreman, Phd
At about the 30 minute mark he goes over several fallacies commited by Mythers: Post Hoc, Generalization, "Terminology Fallacy" which is essentially looking to connect certain dots from many myths from multiple versions of those myths, and then saying "Gee, this looks like ressurection" and others.
The entire myther argument relies strictly on forced assertions, and not argument backed by evidence. You must also accept its conclusion first - Jesus Did not exist, before you procede to its assertions.
It's a very good presentation by Dr. Foreman.
Lane Craig, in another video, points out that Myther roots were within a backdrop of anti semitism.
This is an interesting point that I am continuing to research.

yes, i know whenever the subject of mythicism comes up it's never long before the jewish problem comes up, but luckily jewish control of the media and banking in the US frustrates them as they seek a final solution to their predicament.ant wrote:Lane Craig, in another video, points out that Myther roots were within a backdrop of anti semitism.
i think if we can make mythicists cower before the supremacy of jewish might we could have a chance of silencing them forever.
if we could just get mythicists to say something anti-jewish in europe we could get them locked up and be rid of the annoying scum forever.
because whenever we actually just argue they always seem so reasonable and logical.
they can't see how outrageous it is to read a story of a dying rising god-man who walks on water and raises the dead and think it is mythology, the sooner we bully them all into cowering the better it will be for all of us, don't you think?

if only they were people of your caliber ant, you would never be angry and hateful toward a minority....oooh waitant wrote:If you've found a mythicist, you've likely also found a person who is hateful and angry towards Christianity.
there's no doubt about it, mythicists are jew haters, and i wouldn't be surprised if they are terrorists as wellant wrote:It's fascinating that perhaps all of the internet mythicist generation are totally oblivious to the historical backdrop of their mythicist beliefs which were based on disdain for a JEWISH prophet, and jewish people in general.
perhaps we should get some concentration camps ready for the moment when we can finally inter all the mythicists as the jew hating scum they all are.

This moronic bigoted piece of vilification by ant is pure ignorant hate speech against the best modern Bible scholarship.
No wonder, the science is getting under the skin of the true Jesus believers like ant. They have advanced past ignoring mythicism and are now up to the stage of vilification. First they ignore and mock you, then you win.

Re: Mythicism roots: "Parallelomania" and German Anti Semitism
Who are these alleged "modern " biblical scholars, what are their academic credentials, publications, and primary sources (not secondary garbage).
Astrotheology and mythiscism is NOT modern.
It's a recycled fad.
Do the research and stop being so married to your prejudices and beliefs, Robert.

Re: Mythicism roots: "Parallelomania" and German Anti Semitism
With this thread, ant encourages readers to listen to the opinions of a Professor of philosophy and religion at Liberty University in Lynchburg Virginia, founded by Jerry Falwell.
Quite naturally, Christian fundamentalists have an interest in discrediting study of the relationships between Christianity and other myths because they hold to the belief that the Bible is the inerrant word of God. To say that such study of comparative religion is a form of Nazism, as ant appears to argue here, is certainly an intriguing hypothesis, if not just rank stupidity.Creationism as a biology course
Liberty University teaches young Earth creationism as an explanation for the appearance of life on Earth. The university works with young Earth creationist organizations including Answers in Genesis. In biology classes students are taught both creationism and evolution and that the former offers the better explanation of biological diversity. In October 2006 the university published an advertisement in The Chronicle of Higher Education in an attempt to recruit staff to its biology department. The advertisement stated that the university was "seeking faculty who can demonstrate a personal faith commitment to its evangelical Christian purpose" and specified that "compatibility with a young-earth creationist philosophy [is] required".
In the same month, prominent biologist Richard Dawkins was quoted saying the following about Liberty University: "If it's really true that the museum at Liberty University has dinosaur fossils which are labeled as being 3,000 years old, then that is an educational disgrace. It is debauching the whole idea of a university, and I would strongly encourage any members of Liberty University who may be here, to leave and go to a proper university." In December 1991 Creation reported that Arlton C. Murray "excavated a dinosaur for Liberty University’s museum", which proclaimed "this dinosaur was the first of its kind in any creationist museum."

Thou shalt not suffer a mythicist to live.
Doth not even nature itself teach you, that, if a man be a mythicist, it is a shame unto him?
