I read this in the Daily Variety and re-posted it because it was in the paid edition.

Movies like Oscar ® contenders Zero Dark Thirty and Argo, location is crucial to selling the movie to the audience. The problem lies in the fact that in some parts of the Middle East filming by foreign crews is strictly prohibited. Both these films are based on events taking place in those countries. most movies are maid in Hollywood and New York, but they are starting to move in my area Philly. They also do shoot in small areas now. Also with this new homemade movie trend going it getting easier to shoot your own film in your yard.
