I know a lot of posts here are discussions that are really just a guise meant to belittle, persecute, and disparage people with a worldview based on religious faith. Much of it can rightfully be called atheist hooliganism, which is nothing more than a lack of emotional maturity and intelligence. It is the claptrap of people that are motivated by negative and hurtful personal experiences that at some point in their lives (or currently) left them feeling powerless and insecure in their world.
A worldview is an attempt to come to grips with uncertainty. The moment you hear someone claim they are certain of this or that is the moment youve been introduced to someone that needs certainty in their lives desperately because theyve been terrifyingly unglued before.
Faith that does not turn into something poisonous keeps us humble. Religion (the good kind) throughout the ages has practiced the humility needed to promote love and social well being.
I have yet to see or meet a disbelieving rowdy hooligan promote anything other than angry religious bigotry.
Happy Holidays

Defender of religion, slayer of straw men, and all-around swell guy, your post is truly filled with the joyous and wondrous spirit of the Vague Generic Deity!
Merry Deistmas!
We should save this generous, golden message for posterity (one might wonder why you would come back here, year after year, you must feel that your grim task is quite necessary)

and a merry christmas to all, hey that includes you and me ant, and Dexter too!
i drank too much
then i ate too much
then i passed out
think i did it right.
we went over to my wife's family's place as mum in-law had badly broken her ankle just a couple of days before christmas and was in a wheelchair. Despite everything all agreed it was a good christmas.

Merry Christmas to everyone!
Our evening tonight was punctuated with a lovely trip to the after-hours pediatric doctor. Our 4-year old has not been feeling well for over a week and it seemed to peak today. According to the doc he is just going to have to let it pass since it is an upper respiratory infection. My wife and I assume our own boy's doctor would have prescribed something but this doctor didn't seem alarmed.
I hope you all had a festive Christmas. Overall, ours was wonderful.

Merry Christmas. I'm excited to start reading my GOT omnibus.

Sheesh
I hope everyone had a good holiday!
Interbane, GOT = Game of Thrones?

Are you pushing your own short comings on us and safely hating them from a distance?
Is this the virtue of faith? To never change your mind: especially when you should?
Young Earth Creationists take offense at the idea that we have a common heritage with other animals. Why is being the descendant of a mud golem any better?

Yup, been waiting to read them until after I didn't suck at writing, if that makes sense.

Savor that omnibus, I worked my way through the series a year or so ago, now I'm chomping the bit for the next instalment. (not unlike millions of others I suspect)Interbane wrote:

One of the beauties of this particular time of year is that many can enjoy the brashness of an international event that does not focus on the negative, but also asks that we remain humble and consider through physical effort those that may not have been touched by a thoughtful hand.
Happy tide's too all, and much prosperity in the coming year.
