Ilexia - Hi, I'm new!

This site wasn't recommended to me by anyone, I just stubbled on to it. I love reading and I'm looking forward to discussing all kinds of books with everyone here. I like almost any genre, except I'm not a big fan of romances or westerns (but there's always exceptions). Edited by: Chris OConnor  at: 4/19/06 12:17 pm

You'll be relieved that we steer clear of westerns and romances around here. Fiction is a new area for us here on BookTalk. For the first 3 or more years we were strictly nonfiction, but in an effort to be more inviting to a broader audience we incorporated fiction into the mix.Welcome to BookTalk. So how did you just stumble upon us? There has to be a link or a search term you used. Give us some additional info on how you found us - if you even remember.

I was doing a search on book discussions. I found lots of different sites, but this one really interested me. I don't mind a good nonfiction one every once in a while. In fact, I'm reading one right now about the Knights Templars. Maybe I should recommend it for discussion?

Like you, I also go back and forth between ficton and non-fiction. I would like to hear some of what you've found in your book about the Knights Templar. I picked up some small bits about them in a book I read last summer, Seven Ages of Paris, by Alistair Horne (a book I highly recommend, by the way).
