I need some help...
My Aunt wrote a great book for children (and adults possibly) that is designed to help open a conversation about grief and loss. They got a grant and it is published and soon she will be coming out to where I live to hopefully promote her book. This book is a little intense for general inclusion at a mainstream bookstore, so we are trying to find ways to get the book into the hands of counselors, social workers, relief workers and others who would deal with grief stricken children. I run a restaurant, I have no idea how to set up these kind of functions but this book needs to get out there. I am not trying to market the book in this forum, I will probably contact Chris to find out if I can buy some kind of marketing once they get the website up. I will be looking to set up events like meet and greets with her and the illustrator, possibly local media coverage. Any ideas for who to contact and how would be greatly appreciated.

Hey froglipz! You may want to contact administrators of children's hospitals. I know that the children's hospital of Philadelphia oftentimes buys books on grief. Schools may also be interested. A young child died when my kids were in elementary school and the school had books dealing with grief they loaned out and read to the classmates of the child. Your aunt has written a valuable resourse and I hope it reaches those who would benifit from it. Another idea would be domestic violence advocates. I am a domestic violence court advocate and I know DV advocates work with social workers. Also DV councelers deal with grieving children too frequently and they have state, fed and private funding. Something to think about. Wishing you and your aunt the best.

Re: I need some help...
Hi Froglipz,
I'd try contacting associations set up to help people with depression as they are easy to identify. Also consider publishing it as an ebook so anyone looking for that sort of help can locate it. Lifeline (I guess you have Lifeline in the States?) might be another avenue. There are a lot of self help books in bookshops now so I'd also try a few, particularly those specialising in lifestyle books. Hope this helps.

Frankly, I would suggest that you get her to send a bio of herself, a review of the book, and copies of the book to the local media for a primary feature.
I am sure quite a few entities would respond to the article.

Thanks, do you think even the TV stations would go for it?
