How to get into book stores

Unread post

I was wondering if anyone any tips and/or advice about getting my self published children's book into stores.

What worked for you? What didn't?

Thanks!

Hi again VicCast,

I found local bookshops would usually take a local author's book on consignment. Harder to persuade shops outside your area though so I'll be watching this thread as well to see what other suggestions you receive.

That is mostly what I have found online also. Might be my only choice but maybe, just maybe, someone hear has a better option.

Ditch the big guys and play to the smaller crowds; will work better for you in the short term and hopefully build something for later. :P
